Zdeněk Lokaj started his career at the company Accenture, where he focused on transport information systems (electronic toll, electronic fare etc.). Afterwards he worked for Microsoft, where he was responsible for power supply to customers.

In 2009 he returned to the academic sphere and he currently leads research and development projects concerning transport telematics, electronic identification and transport systems in road transport, especially cooperative systems. Moreover, since 2012 he co-operates with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering CTU in Prague in the field of identification systems research.
