Jiří Potůček graduated from FEL CTU in Prague and shortly afterwards he defended his dissertation “Modelling of Biological Systems on Hybrid computer”. From 1976 to 1983, he worked as a researcher at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine, where he worked on 170 publications in the field of bioengineering. From 1984 to 1989 he served as a professor at TU Delft in the Netherlands and at California State University, Chico, USA, in the Department of Bioengineering. During the years 1991 – 2005 he was director, owner and founder of Medisoft International, which developed and sold one of the most successful information systems for medical practices. After selling the company Medisoft, he founded the Technological Centre for e-Health to implement the concept of a future national e-Health solution which includes personalized drug therapy, telemedicine and assistive technologies.
