A cashless society as a step towards losing freedom?

Sacha Polverini joined in September 2020 to lead VISA’s Government Engagement and public policy activities in continental Europe.

He joins Visa from Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA), where he led the group’s European Public Affairs activities. Prior to WBA, Sacha spent four years in Seattle at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Financial Services for the Poor (FSP) program where he was in charge of Global Policy and Regulation. Sacha joined the foundation from Brussels where he lived and worked for almost 20 years representing – at senior level – the interests of large international financial corporations (i.e. Barclays) before both the EU and national policy and decision makers.

A graduate of University L.U.I.S.S Guido Carli in Rome, Sacha holds a Master’s degree in European Political Studies from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and he completed the post-graduate management program at Solvay Business School, École de Commerce de Solvay, Brussels. Sacha’s interests include traveling, painting and attending plays.
